The FLINkite+

The FLINkite+ impresses with its flying, square solar modules. Two to six solar panels are placed over any halyard and held in position by a center line. The guide lines ensure synchronous alignment with the sun. Once the optimum angle has been set, the guide lines are fixed in clamps that are hooked onto the railing with carabiners.

Solar modules aligned at the perfect angle

A solar module's performance depends on its alignment at the perfekt angle. The solar modules in the FLINkite+ can be aligned synchronously around two axes and fixed at any angle.

In addition, our solar modules not only use the solar radiation on their front side, but also on their rear side. This bifacial technology enables even more energy to be generated.

FLIN quality

Our solar modules offer first-class efficiency with low weight, high stability and durability thanks to innovative technology.

The solar cells in our solar modules are connected redundantly using multi-busbar technology. The high number of electrical contacts results in lower loads on the individual conductors.

In addition, the solar cells are protected by embedding them in composite layers. The ETFE coating protects the module from the weather and salt water. Despite its flexibility, this ensures high stability, durability and a long service life.

In our tensioned solar systems (FLINsail+, FLINkite+), the cables are also sheathed with Dyneema fibers. This offers optimum protection even under extreme conditions.

We endeavor to source the components for our solar systems in Germany or Europe. Thanks to our own development, production, assembly and testing of each product, we can guarantee high quality and therefore a reliable power supply for your on-board electrical system.

During sailing, the FLINkite+ is stowed in the FLIN bag and stored in a suitable place, e.g. below deck. In calm conditions or at anchor, the FLINkite+ is hoisted by means of a halyard.

The FLINkite+ is stored protected in the handy FLIN bag. The bag is designed with padding and reinforcement to protect the solar system from light external impact.

The FLINkite+ can be stored in the FLIN bag below deck or in a back box.

Yes, a charge controller and a suitable connector to the FLINkite+ are required. If you have a suitable charge controller and interface, you can connect your FLINkite+. You can find suitable charge controllers for your FLIN product here.

We are happy to advise you and offer a charge controller and connector for your FLINkite+.

The FLINkite+ is a plug & play system. Therefore, no design changes need to be made to the sailing yacht in order to use the FLINkite+. If it is used, the cables can be laid flying through the companionway or a hatch. Alternatively, a fixed socket can be used as a deck feed-through.
